Sebi hikes additional capital, margins requirements to 50%
Mumbai, June 21: Securities and Exchange Board of India has hiked the cash component for additional capital and margins requirements for brokers to 50 per cent from current 30 per cent.
Mumbai, June 21: Securities and Exchange Board of India has hiked the cash component for additional capital and margins requirements for brokers to 50 per cent from current 30 per cent.
The cash component of additional capital and margins should be introduced in a phased manner so that broking members could comply with norm by the end of June 2003, Sebi said in a communication to stock exchanges.
The issue of composition of additional capital and margins was revived by the advisory committee on derivatives and market risk management, Sebi said.
Based on panel's inputs, the regulator has revised composition of additional capital and margins.
