The PM had addressed the nation on November 8 to announce the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes in order to fight black money and curb corruption.
Since then, the nation has witnessed serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs. People have been queuing up to get their old illegal tenders exchanged with the new ones. The PM had informed the people of the temporary inconveniences that would be caused and had appealed to the citizens to join him in the war against black money.
Pattnaik’s sand art reflects the same sentiments and appeals to the citizens to have patience because the demonetisation plan will prove to be beneficial to common people in the long run.
