Hyderabad, Nov 02: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani would be the chief guest at the passing out parade of 34 probationary IPS officers, including five women, at the end of
their training at prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy here today.
Advani would also lay foundation stone for a Rs 4.78 crore outdoor training complex, NPA director Ganeshwar Jha told reporters last month.
The probationers, including two police officers from Royal Bhutan Police of 55th batch of IPS officers, who underwent one-year rigorous training at NPA would join the police service after the parade, Jha said.
Keeping in view of the changes in crime scenario, the NPA has been upgrading its infrastructure and skills to mould a student of a university as perfect police officers, he said.
In order to further improve the quality of training and research, the NPA has established linkages with Osmania University and Tata Institute of Social Sciences, he said.
Efforts are being made to have organic linkage with Scarman Centre for the Study of Public Order (CSPO), University of Leicester in UK, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York in USA and School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Charle Sturt University in Australia, Jha said.
"The NPA not only imparts training to IPS probationers, but is also a centre for training of trainers which conducts courses for the senior police officers of the rank of DSP to DGP level," Jha added.
