Jammu, Dec 03: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said that the schedule for elections to local bodies in the state, including those to the left over panchayat seats would be announced soon. First of all elections to the left over panchayats would be held and these would be immediately followed by the municipal polls, Sayeed said adding the schedule for the purpose would be announced soon.

The Chief Minister was responding to the demands of a deputation of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) that called on him here last evening.

Sayeed also assured a delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association, that their demand for granting of freedom fighters status to them would be examined on priority. Bureau Report
