Rains lash north India
Chandigarh, June 30: Rains continued to lash north India for the fourth successive day today after the arrival of south-west monsoon in most parts of the region on Friday, causing the mercury to drop sharply.

causing the mercury to drop sharply.
The city witnessed a partly cloudy day today and recorded
18.1 mm of rainfall till the morning, according to the
meteorological department here.
In Haryana, Ambala was lashed by 8.9 mm of rain, while
Hisar, Rohtak and Kalka also received some rain.
Jammu also received some light showers.
In Punjab, Ludhiana (7 mm), Patiala (15 mm) and Nangal Dam (4.2) area were among the places to receive rains since yesterday.
Most of Himachal Pradesh was lashed by rains and Shimla recorded 9.2 mm of rain till this morning.
Sundernagar (10.5 mm), Pandoh (3.0), Rampur (0.7), Sunni (0.8 mm), Kasol (7.9), Manali (6 mm), Guler (2.5 mm), Nadaun (6 mm) Sujanpur Tera (2.8 mm), Nagrota Surien (9.3 mm), Dhundi (10 mm), Solang Nullah (5 mm), Bhuntar (3.8 mm) and Dharamsala (18.6 mm) were among other towns in the state to receive rain.
The Met office has forecast rain or thunder showers at many places in Punjab and Himachal and at a few places in Haryana over the next two days. Bureau Report
