Army recruitment drive in J-K
Jammu, Nov 25: To provide employment to people in far-flung areas, the army authorities today started a recruitment drive in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said here.

"We have started the recruitment drive for raising 7
Territorial Army (TA) battalions from Doda district today,"
the spokesman said.
The recruitment drive will be carried out in Doda today, followed by Kishtwar on November 26 and 27, Banihal on December 01-02 and Udhampur on December 04-05, he said.
As many as 7000 people are to be recruited in 7 TA battalions in six districts of Jammu region, he said adding that this package was announced by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his visit to the state earlier this year.
In the recruitment drive, sons of servicemen, ex-servicemen, war widows and outstanding national or state level sportsmen will be given preference, he said.
