Mumbai, May 27: World Cup champions Australia, runners-up India and Pakistan have confirmed their participation in a tri-nation cricket tournament, to be played on single league format from August 22 to 29 at Amsterdam. "The dates of the individual matches have not yet been decided, but the tournament is scheduled between August 22 and 29," joint secretary of the Cricket Board Ratnakar Shetty, said here today. The format would mean there will be only four matches, including the final.
The tri-nation tournament is sandwiched between the July 16-August 1 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and India's three-match limited over International Natwest Challenge Series against England scheduled prior to their engagements in the ICC Champions Trophy.
The Natwest Challenge Series of matches between India and England are to be held on September 1, 3 and 5 before the September 10-25 Champions Trophy, also slated to be held in England.
