Chandigarh, Feb 01: Charging the Congress with "diverting" from its ideology, the BJP today said it was ready to take on the Congress and its partners in the coming Lok Sabha polls, but dared the alliance to disclose the name of its leader.
"Congress can fight polls jointly with Samajwadi Party, NCP, CPI-M ... BJP is ready," BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu said addressing an 'Atal Sandesh Rally' here.

"They (Congress) are hesitant in disclosing the name of their leader," he said asking it and its possible allies to "come out in the open."

Naidu said the Congress no longer followed the path shown by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. "There is a long list of divisions within the Congress," he added.

He said the situation in the Congress was "pathetic" as it was devoid of a leader.

"Can a party which is hesitant to disclose the name of its leader rule the country," Naidu asked. Bureau Report
