Imphal, Nov 06: Two army jawans were killed and three others were injured in a powerful bomb explosion triggered by suspected UNLF insurgents in Moreh area, bordering Myanmar, in Manipur's Chandel district last night. The bomb, planted by suspected United National Liberation Front insurgents, exploded when Assam Rifles personnel of 37th battalion were returning to their camp after collecting water from Moreh, about 120 km south-east of Imphal, official sources said here.

While one jawan died on the spot, the other succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital, they said, adding the injured jawans are out of danger.

The sources, quoting reports from Chandel district, said the insurgents crossed to Myanmar after the explosion.
