Patna, July 27: Union minister of state for home
Swami Chinmyanand today expressed concern over rise in cases
of kidnapping and naxal violence in Bihar and said the Centre
would provide all assistance to the state if it sought help.
"The union home ministry is getting reports of rise in
the cases of kidnapping and naxal violence in different parts
of the state and if the Bihar government seeks help the Centre
will provide assistance to fight the menace," swami told
reporters at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport here.
On the state government's alleged "failure" to curb the
shooting crime graph, swami said "though there is an elected
government in Bihar, there is no semblance of goverance in the
state".
On sudden spurt in naxal violence, especially along the Indo-Nepal border districts of north Bihar, Swami said the Special Service Bureau (SSB) had been put on "maximum alert" to check cross-border interactions between extremists of Bihar with ultras of Nepal.
The Union minister was enroute Delhi from Assam where he had gone to survey the flood situation along with his Cabinet colleague C P Thakur.
