Patna, July 27: Union minister of state for home Swami Chinmyanand today expressed concern over rise in cases of kidnapping and naxal violence in Bihar and said the Centre would provide all assistance to the state if it sought help. "The union home ministry is getting reports of rise in the cases of kidnapping and naxal violence in different parts of the state and if the Bihar government seeks help the Centre will provide assistance to fight the menace," swami told reporters at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport here. On the state government's alleged "failure" to curb the shooting crime graph, swami said "though there is an elected government in Bihar, there is no semblance of goverance in the state".
On sudden spurt in naxal violence, especially along the Indo-Nepal border districts of north Bihar, Swami said the Special Service Bureau (SSB) had been put on "maximum alert" to check cross-border interactions between extremists of Bihar with ultras of Nepal.
The Union minister was enroute Delhi from Assam where he had gone to survey the flood situation along with his Cabinet colleague C P Thakur.
