Srinagar, Sept 02: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a person who helped two terrorists in carrying out suicide attack at Akshardham temple in Gujarat last year bringing the total number of arrests to six. The Jammu and Kashmir police, which was developing leads into the Akshardham temple case provided by Intelligence Bureau, zeroed in on Chand Khan, who hails from up and runs an automobile repairing shop in the valley, police said. During his questioning, police claimed that khan told the interrogators that he had taken the two Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) militants from Srinagar to Bariely from where they borarded a train to Jaipur and later a bus to Ahmedabad. Khan, according to the police, said the two terrorists, who were killed by NSG Commondos, had also planned to carry out an attack at the Gaurav Yatra being taken out by Chief Minister Narendra Modi as part of his election campaign. Khan, arrested by police on Sunday, said that the two militants chose Akshardham temple after visiting several spots in the city, police claimed.
Thirty-two people, including three security personnel, were killed in the attack on the temple in Ahmedabad on September 24 last year.

Khan's arrest came two days after Gujarat police arrested five persons in the walled city in Ahmedabad.
