India tied third in Nomura Cup
New Delhi, Sept 02: The four-member Indian team, led by Asian Games gold medallist Shiv Kapur, was tied third after the first day of the Asia Pacific amateur gold championship, Nomura Cup 2003, being played in Port Dougles, Australia.

India was sharing the third place with Philippines with
a combine score of 217 (+4) over, an Indian Golf Union release
said here today.
New Zealand finished on top at the end of the first day with a tally of 211 (-) 2 under par followed by Australia and Japan, who were tied for second.
The Nomura Cup, being played at the Links Golf Club, is a biennial championship which pits 13 nations from the Asia Pacific region in a 72-hole stroke play format with the best three of four scores counting each day.
Individual scores of Indians are as follows:
Vikrant Chopra-71 even par, Shiv Kapur-72 (+) 1 over, Simarjit Singh 74 (+) 3 over and Keshav Misra 78 (+) 7 over. Bureau Report
