Punhana (Gurgaon), Nov 15: Deploring countries which are projecting themselves as the crusader of Islam by "dividing people", former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Friday that those terming terrorism as "jehad" (religious war) were a slur on Islam.
"Wise sense must prevail upon our neighbouring country and upon all those who were promoting terrorism in the name of jehad," he said at an Iftar party organised by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) here.
He said that people belonging to different religion had been trying to check terrorism in the country.
There was no place for separatism, violence and hatred in Islam, he said. Bureau Report
