The Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Special Task Forces were continuing their search for the elusive brigand, he said and expressed the hope that Veerappan would be nabbed soon.
Stating that Pota had not been misused in Tamil Nadu, he said investigations were continuing in connection with the alleged money transaction, which took place in the Rajkumar kidnap case.
On the recent robbery of a jewellery shop in Vellore, in which one person was killed, he said police all over the state had been alerted and important evidence had been obtained.
Govind said that 151 women commandos were undergoing a 12 week rigorous training. As part of their training, a relay race from Kanyakumari to Chennai, covering 720 kms, had been undertaken by them, he added.
