Chennai, Nov 13: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today expressed optimism that the issue relating to the sentencing of six journalists by the Tamil Nadu Assembly would soon be `sorted out` amicably.

In an informal chat with reporters here after inaugurating the seventh national conference on e-governance, he said that as far as the developments relating to the press for the past few days were concerned, "I am optimistic that the matter will be sorted out."
Asked whether he would request the Tamil Nadu government to withdraw the resolution passed by the assembly sentencing the six journalists, he said, "It is a legislative matter. A government cannot directly ask a legislature to do this or that.
