Mumbai, Aug 05: Stepping up pressure on the NDA government over clearance of the right to information act in Maharashtra, noted social activist Anna Hazare has warned that the onus of his fast unto death beginning here on August 9 will be solely on Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani. Referring to his recent two meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister in New Delhi with regard to the state's information bill, Hazare, in a letter to Advani, Said "I regret to note that no concrete steps have been initiated by you in the matter despite your assurance of an appropriate and expeditious action".

Hazare, during his meetings with Advani has requested the latter to advise the president to grant his assent to the state's bill, which has been adapted by the Maharashtra legislature.

"Therefore, I am painfully constrained to bring to your notice that the onus of my fast unto death with respect to my demand for enforcement of the right to information act in Maharashtra will be solely with you", Hazare's letter to Advani written on August 1, 2003 said.
Besides, implementation of the Right to Information Bill, Hazare's fast at the August Kranti Maidan here from August 9 intends to highlight corruption in the DF government and seeking an act to bring transparency in the transfers of police officials and bureaucrats.

The renowned social worker has also accused four DF ministers of indulging in "corrupt practices".
