Kathmandu, Aug 10: Relics of Lord Buddha will be displayed for three days in Kushinagar, the Indian town where he attained Nirvana, according to a Buddhist organisation of Nepal. The relics, which were brought to Nepal from Bangkok on friday, will be displayed in Kushinagar from 13 to 15 August, Vice Chairman of Dharmodaya Sabha Laxmidas Manandhar said.
They will be displayed in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha on August 12 and then will be taken to India.
The relics will also be displayed at Muni Vihar, Bhaktapur on the outskirts of Kathmandu for the last two days, where a large number of Buddhists have been gathering to get a glimpse of it.

The relics will be returned to Bangkok from Kushinagar on August 16 and from there it will be taken to various countries.
The relics were brought to Nepal in connection with its display across the world, before it is absorbed at the Buddhist Chaitya, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini and attained Nirvana, salvation at Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh.
