Quetta, May 29: Two powerful bombs rocked the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta, including one targeting the country's key spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), but caused no casualties, officials said today.
The bombs went off late yesterday at about 10:10 pm (2240
hrs IST) about 15 minutes apart, provincial home secretary
Badruddin Ujjan said.
One was planted near the outer wall of an official residential building and the other was fixed on a power pylon outside the ISI office in Quetta city.
No one has claimed responsibility, he said.
"We have beefed up security and registered a case," Ujjan said.
The bombs were locally made and contained "highly explosive materials," bomb disposal officer Rafo Gul said.
"Had there been people around it would have caused heavy casualties," Gul added.
The blasts came a day after unidentified people fired three rockets from a hill overlooking the city.
It was not immediately clear who was behind these attacks in which no one was killed. Bureau Report
