Jammu, Oct 28: Three army jawans were killed and 48 others injured, including nine army personnel, in two separate explosion in Doda and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir today, police sources said. Suspected militants, who had planted a high power Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar road at Khilani, triggered it through a remote control device when an army convoy was passing through the area around 11:55 am, the sources told media . One of the vehicles which passed over the IED was blown up and later turned turtle under the impact of explosion killing three jawans and injuring 10 others, three of them seriously. All the injured jawans were rushed to a hospital, where another jawan succumbed to his injuries, they said adding the death toll is likely to increase. Police and security forces have launched search operation to track down militants responsible for the explosion, they added. In another incident, militants lobbed a grenade at the BSNL building which landed near the main counter for collection of telephone bills around 1 pm, official sources said.

A large number of people were present at the counters when the grenade pierced the tin-roof and exploded causing injuries to 38 civilians including eight women, the sources said.
