Jabalpur (MP), Nov 19: Accusing the Digvijay Singh government of "failure" to utilise Central funds for development, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today lamented that foreign investment was not forthcoming in states like Madhya Pradesh in view of "growing lawlessness". "Foreign investors want to come to India and open factories and companies but they feel that there could be a threat to their life and property," he said launching BJP's election campaign in the state.
Coming down heavily on the MP Congress government, which is completing ten years in office, Vajpayee said that the Centre had given rs.4000 crores during the last four years to the state but a large chunk of it remained unutilised.
"Madhya Pradesh government has to give a reply about its failure to make use of funds given by the Centre for improving the living conditions of the people and development of the state," he said.
