Nuerburging, June 28: Kimi Raikkonen, looking to regain the lead in the drivers’ standings, posted the fastest timing in the rain-affected pre-qualifying for the European Grand Prix ahead of five-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
It was cloudy when Raikkonen set his time in the opening minutes of the session. He was timed in 1 minute, 29.989 seconds on the 5.148-kilometer (3.199-mile) circuit in his McLaren-Mercedes. Schumacher in his Ferrari did 1:30.353 just ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya in a Williams-BMW, who finished in 1:30.378.

Ralf Schumacher, second in Canada was 4th in Williams-BMW at 1:30.532. Rubens Barrichello in the was fifth. Bureau Report
