Top Jalandhar officials replaced
Chandigarh, June 09: The Punjab government today replaced Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar, and the district police chief in the wake of criticism of `inept` handling of the situation following outbreak of caste clashes last week.
Chandigarh, June 09: The Punjab government today replaced Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar, and the district police chief in the wake of criticism of "inept" handling of the situation following outbreak of caste clashes last week.
DIG Rohit Chaurdhary has been replaced by Dinkar Gupta who was DIG, Intelligence, while SSP Virender Kumar has been replaced by Harpreet Singh Sidhu, SSP Ludhiana.
Cheif Minister Amarinder Singh said that the police and administrative reshuffle "indicates where all the failure had taken place and who all failed".
