Dubai, May 11: Fabindia, India's leading retailer of traditional weaves and home furnishings, has launched its first Middle East outlet here.
The Dubai showroom of Fabindia, which has 13 outlets in India and Rome, was opened by the Indian consul general Yash Sinha and Abdul Rahman G Al Mutaiwe, director general of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Fabindia started way back in 1960 in India by an American John Bissel who had come to India to explore possibility of sourcing Indian handloom textiles for export, has over the years become a well known name in khadi and other traditional wear.
Offering a comprehensive collection of hand-woven ready-to-wear and home furnishings, Fabindia, Dubai showcases the rich legacy of India's traditional weavers and artisans, with a wide array of styles that are contemporary and sophisticated.
