New Delhi: John Abraham is one of the most popular action stars in Bollywood and the actor feels the genre is safe for him as screen life of action heroes is maximum.
The 43-year-old model-turned-actor, who made his acting debut with erotic thriller "Jism," believes action films have a mass appeal and the genre will never lose its fan base.
"I don't have any fear of being typecast. Be it Bollywood or Hollywood action hero will always last the longest. Action films are for masses. I think from an actor's point of view it is a very safe genre for me," John told PTI.
The actor will next be seen doing some major stunts in his upcoming film "Force 2" and he says the makers decided to come up with the sequel to the 2011 hit because the subject they were dealing with was topical.
"'Force' can be the biggest action franchise the country has seen. We believe the story in 'Force 2' is really special and topical. We planned this film one and half year in advance and unfortunately the Uri attack happened."
John says the movie is a proper sequel compared to other Bollywood franchises which are just cashing in on the success of previous film.
"'Force 2' is the only correctly defined sequel where you feel it is not force fitted. The others are 'part 2' for some strange reasons. Our heart is at a right place and we are lucky to have the script right."
Directed by Abhinay Deo, "Force 2" also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The movie will hit the theatres this Friday.
