Beijing, July 23: China would host for the first time the PGA Asia trade and industrial fair from November 22 to 24 amid the growing popularity of golf among the country's wealthy.
Such shows by the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) will be held regularly in Beijing every year through to 2008 when the 29th Olympiad is to take place here, a report said today. Though there are more than 400,000 golf memberships distributed among China's 195 golf courses, the liking for the game, which was traditionally seen as the sport of aristocrats has been on the rise in the country with a population of about 1.3 billion. Organisers said the aim of the show was to promote the development of china's emerging golf industry, by focusing on its trade and industrial aspects pertaining to the development of golfing infrastructure.
The show will introduce the latest products in the market, like golf clubs and their accessories, golf courses, course equipment and supplies.

The event will be co-organised by PGA show Asia and the Beijing sub-council of the China Council for The Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
