Kochi, June 15: Five players, including defending champion O T Anilkumar of Kerala, were leading with four points each after the fourth round in the 15th Cusat International Rating Open Chess Tournament here today. Vinothkumar and K Haridas of Tamil Nadu, Konakanchi Ninad of Maharashtra and former champion U C Mohanan of Kerala share the joint lead with Anil Kumar on four points each.

On the top board, Im Elect and second seed P D S Girinath of Andhra Pradesh was held to a draw by K R Madhusoodanan of Tamil Nadu, while top seed and four-time champion M B Muraleedharan of Kerala was forced to a draw by Prajal Phukan of Madhya Pradesh.

The only upset was on the third board when the 25th seed Vinothkumar beat fifth seed Alex Thomas of Kerala.

Haridas defeated teammate Stanley Samson and U C Mohanan beat P Srikanth.

Kerala's Sandhya, who had upset sixth seed Tejdeep of Andhra Pradesh in the third round, lost to Konakanchi Ninad in the fourth round.
