London: Veteran actress Angela Lansbury and The Kinks musical 'Sunny Afternoon', were the big winners at Olivier Awards, held at London's Royal Opera House.

At the ceremony, hosted by Lenny Henry, Arthur Miller's 'A View From The Bridge' also won big, taking home three awards including best revival, reported BBC.


Lansbury, who turns 90 this October, returned to the West End last year as Madame Arcati in 'Blithe Spirit' at the Gielgud Theatre. The actress took home the best supporting actress for her performance, telling the audience "I simply can't believe it," while accepting the statue.


Penelope Wilton took home the award for best actress thanks to her performance in 'Taken At Midnight'. The 68-year-old 'Downton Abbey' actress beat stars including Gillian Anderson and


Kristin Scott Thomas to take home the prize.


The best actor award went to Mark Strong for his performance in 'A View From The Bridge'. Ivo Van Hove also took home the best director award for his work on the Arthur Miller play, which was also named best revival.


The other big winner of the night was 'Sunny Afternoon', the musical based on The Kinks, which was written by frontman Ray Davies. John Dagleish, who plays Davies in the production took home the award for best actor in a musical, while George Maguire, who plays Dave Davies, was named best supporting actor in a musical.


At the end of the evening Judi Dench presented Kevin Spacey with a special award, recognising the actor's work in London theatre.
