Srinagar, Oct 03: Six militants were killed today in separate gunbattles with security forces in Baramulla and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said. Three ultras were killed in a gunfight with Rashtriya Rifle troops at Chak Manhmunshi-Kreeri in Pattan area in Baramulla district in the wee hours, the spokesman said. He said acting on a specific information about the presence of militants, jawans encircled a residential house in the area and in the ensuing gunbattle three ultras were killed. The house was also gutted in the exchange of fire, the spokesman said adding three AK rifles were recovered from the debris.
In another encounter, three militants were killed in Kupwara district. Bureau Report
