London, June 15: After his weeklong visit to the US, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani arrived here this morning for talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his cabinet colleagues on a gamut of issues including terrorism.
On his arrival here, the Deputy Prime Minister was warmly received by the Indian High Commissioner Ronen Sen, Air India regional director for UK and Ireland captain Ashwani Kumar Sharma and others.
Advani, on a four-day visit here at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott will meet Blair tomorrow morning followed by a luncheon with home secretary David Blunkett.
On Tuesday, Advani will have a luncheon meeting with Prescott followed by a separate meeting with Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
During the discussions, Britain is expected to raise the question of long-pending 1 billion pounds worth hawk deal and prospects of India deploying its troops for peacekeeping purpose in Iraq as the US-led alliance troops are getting bogged down in an increasingly hostile situation there.
Advani will apprise the British leaders about India's fresh peace initiative with Pakistan and the need to end the terrorists' traffic from across the border before the two countries could resume a dialogue.
Incidentally, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf arrives here on a four-day visit on Tuesday and meets Blair the same day.
