New Delhi, Oct 18: Even as the two rapists of Swiss diplomat remained elusive on the fourth day today, Delhi police claimed to have caught hold of 16 suspects as it launched a virtual crackdown on the youth resembling the sketches of the accused and questioned about 3,500 people so far. Police is in touch with the victim and photographs of six more suspects have been sent to her in Switzerland via e-mail even as she is yet to go through the 10 sent earlier, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Vivek Gogia said. "Investigation is making progress and more information is coming about the incident," he said. He said 16 suspects, about whom all details are being ascertained, have been shortlisted on the basis of their physical features, past actions and present behaviour.
"Most physical features of these persons match with those of the sketches of the accused," Gogia said.
Finger prints and other scientific details of the suspects are also being matched with those lifted from the car, he said and added that verification is a lengthy process.

The DCP said, however, that none of the suspects had any bite mark on the hands. A manhunt has specifically been launched in Shahpur Jat, Hauz Khas and other areas adjoining Sirifort Auditorium from whose parking lot the victim was abducted and raped.
He said another person had approached police claiming to be witness to attack on Indian woman film-maker at the same spot about half-an-hour after the assault of the Swiss woman.

On reports about certain anomalies in the FIR, Gogia said it was prepared on the basis of written and signed statement of the complainant.
