Lucknow, May 24: Suspended Rashtriya Lok Dal MLA Samarpal Singh today claimed that the 14-member group was heading for a split following "deep resentment" among party members over its president Ajit Singh's "style" of functioning. He claimed about eight to nine RLD MLA’s were in touch with him.
"Party MLA’s have lost confidence in Ajit Singh and are keen to join hands with those who want to work in the interest of farmers honestly", Samar Pal Singh, who was suspended from the party last year, told newspersons here.
Denying holding talks with either the BSP or BJP in the wake of RLD ministers quitting the U P government, Singh said he would not hesitate in joining a party which would earnestly work in the interest of farmers and a final decision on whom to support would be taken within two weeks.
He also did not rule out the possibility of RLD MLA’s forming their own group after severing ties with ajit singh.
On why he did not take part in today's important meeting called by Ajit Singh, Samar Pal said he was not invited. Bureau Report
