Gaza City, June 12: A senior leader of the armed wing of Hamas, and his wife and one of his children, were among six people killed today in an Israeli helicopter strike in northern Gaza City, Hamas sources and his family said. The Hamas sources at Gaza City's main al-Shifa hospital named him as Yasser Taha, a senior member of the Ezzedin al-Qassam brigades, from al-Boureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Taha was in the car with his wife and their three-year-old daughter when the missiles slammed into it, they said.

His relatives said another family member was also killed in the attack, but it was not immediately clear if they were referring to Taha's wife.

They added that the Israeli Army failed to capture Taha at al-Boureij camp three months ago.
