Gupta, expelled from Pakistan on November 7 and was asked to leave the country within seven days, was reportedly beaten up during interrogation and was taken to hospital for treatment, they said Gupta was pulled out of a taxi on Thursday evening on a busy road here while he was returning home along with his wife from shopping.
