Bhopal, June 26: The Madhya Pradesh government was considering the issue of granting 27 per cent reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBC) from the existing 14 per cent. However, a final decision in this regard was yet to be taken, official sources said here today. At yesterday`s cabinet meeting, chaired by chief minister Digvijay Singh, the issue of providing 27 per cent reservation to OBC`s was discussed but no decision was taken. If the government goes ahead with its decision on the issue, then the total reservation in the state will rise to 63 per cent from the present 50 per cent (SC-16 + ST-20 + OBC-14), the sources added.
