Chennai, May 27: MDMK general secretary Vaiko today defended former Union minister Gingee Ramachandran, who had quit following the arrest of his personal assistant on graft charges, and said he was convinced that his party colleague had not committed any wrong. "We will prove ourselves that we have made no mistakes", Vaiko, A pota detenue, who was brought to a Pota special court at the suburban Poonamalee, told reporters.

Stating that he had a lengthy discussion with Gingee at Vellore prison yesterday, Vaiko said Gingee had shown him a circular and explained the entire transfer process in the finance ministry. "These posts (for which Perumalsamy had allegedly got bribe for transfers) do not come under Gingee's purview and only the minister of cabinet rank deals with such matters. Transfers will be intimated to the minister of state only for the purpose of information", he said.
