Tower climber places grievances before I&B Minister
New Delhi, Aug 14: After high drama and threats of killing himself from atop the Akashvani Bhavan tower today, Bhaskar Bora, a casual employee of the AIR, placed his grievances before Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Bora climbed down from the tower on the assurances
conveyed by Prasad through CEO, Prasar Bharati, K S Sarma,
ministry sources said.
During the 15-minute meeting Bora expressed his grouses with Prasar Bharati which included delay in payments, disparity in money given to news readers of languages other than English and Hindi and not being given an identity card.
Bora, a post-graduate who is studying law at Delhi University, said that what he had done was "wrong" and sent wrong messages, ministry sources said.
Prasad asked Sarma, who was also present at the meeting to look into the demands particularly on delay in payments and disparity, the sources said.
Sarma said id cards could not be issued to casual workers due to security problems.
