After a meeting held here yesterday, RLD activists submitted a memorandum addressed to Uttar Pradesh governor Vishnu Kant Shastri to district officials in which they threatened to launch agitation programs if the transfers and demotions were not cancelled.
Meanwhile, the UP Jat Mahasabha has threatened "retaliatory action" to protest the "victimisation" of the officials.
Talking to reporters yesterday, mahasabha general secretary Gen (Retd) Karan Singh Solanki said many Jat officials had been victimised over the past one month by the Mayawati government.
