Cliff Richard feels 'tarnished' by sexual abuse allegations

London: Veteran singer Cliff Richard has admitted he feels "tarnished" following two years of "trauma", after the CPS dropped the case against him last week.

Speaking in his first TV interview for two years with Susanna Reid on "Good Morning Britain", Richard, 75, said he is now "cagey" when having pictures with people, as he struggles to move on from the traumatic time, reported Daily Mirror.

Asked by the presenter whether the allegations had changed the way he trusts people, he said, "Yes to a certain extent it (has), I am very cagey now when I am having pictures taken with people.

"And I don't like that feeling, because I've always had photographs taken with grandparents and their grandchildren. I have had my arms around their grandchildren, that's my life, I'm a family entertainer and that's what I have done. But that's one thing I am going to have to try and get rid of."

Talking about the police investigation, the star aired his frustration that the term "insufficient evidence" was used throughout, adding, "I still feel tarnished because insufficient suggests maybe there's something there, and I know there wasn't."
