Pune, May 19: The cyclonic storm over north Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a "very severe cyclonic storm" and is likely to move in a northeasterly direction and cross Bangladesh-Mayanmar coast by this evening, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) here today. The system lies centered near latitude 20.5 degree north and longitude 92.0 degree east over north Bay of Bengal, the IMD added.
Heavy rains are likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and several places in West Bengal and Sikkim.
Rains are also likely to take place in Konkan and Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the IMD added.
