CPI-M on Monday cautioned government against launching any retaliatory strikes on PoK saying it could spark off a full-scale war and suggested that all evidence regarding the attack on Parliament House be placed before the United Nations and the world community.
This will provide the necessary backing to the demand that organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba operating from Pakistan be proceeded against. The Pakistan President (Pervez Musharraf) will then be called to act on his statement that if evidence is produced, action will be taken against those responsible, the party politbureau said in a statement in New Delhi.
It said all evidence pinpointing the perpetrators of the attack must be gathered and placed before the UN and the international community .

Describing as irresponsible the demand by some sections in the BJP to strike on PoK, it said this will not serve the purposes of eliminating the terrorist organisations but spark off a full-scale war. This will shift the focus away from India's strong case against terrorist activities and need for firm action.
