Dhaka, Sept 13: Three bandits were killed and several others injured in a gunbattle with police in southeastern Bangladesh, police said today. They said the gun-toting bandits attacked three homes and set them on fire yesterday near the remote char Jabbar village in Noakhali district, 120 km southeast of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. Police rushed to the scene and the firefight ensued, said police in Noakhali, who put the toll at three bandits killed and "several" injured.
Security was beefed up in the area.
