Badal flays police role in Daler case
Chandigarh, Oct 30: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Parkash Singh Badal today accused Punjab Police of `inhuman conduct` against renowned Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi and said the entire issue should be probed by an independent agency.

"A judicial probe at the highest level or even CBI
inquiry would be quite in order to get the truth in the sordid
drama", a statement quoting the Akali leader said here.
Badal said he was all for an independent probe into the allegations of human smuggling against the singer and his
"But the Daler Mehndi case and its handling has raised many questions about the way police is behaving in Punjab. We strongly oppose an artist of his stature being subjected to a brutal and stage managed mob trial, as it happened in Patiala," he said.
