New Delhi: We all remember 'D' from 'Bigg Boss 8', don't we? We not just remember her for that but also love Diandra Soares for being what she is. She ruled the ramp and has been a supermodel with success standing at her doorstep. Diandra appeared as fierce, righteous and unapologetic on the reality show 'Bigg Boss', and it was this badass attitude which made us love her.

Recently, the model cum actress in an interview with MissMalini.com opened up about her battle with thyroid and how she is fighting weight issues. Despite having a medical condition D does not deter from staying positive and urges everyone to follow the same.

She told MissMalini.com, “Having been a supermodel, I’ve always struggled with being a “fashion size” to fit my job requirement. I’ve been super skinny but I am also a big girl. I’ve seen many fluctuations weight-wise over the years… of course, my job required me to be a certain size. Now, 20 years later in this business, I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and that was quite shocking. It was a personal struggle for me as I was trying my best to deal with it.

Still being in the public eye and part of the entertainment industry that can be very brutal is hard. In fact, it’s not just us women, men also hate on their bodies. We hate on ourselves, we kill ourselves. Some of us hardly eat and see life just go by. We are always cranky or unhappy -Always hating. Life happens, bodies change…we need to start loving our bodies, show respect.

Big is also beautiful. No judgement, no hate, no shaming. I’m in no way saying ‘don’t work out and just eat and stay there’. In fact, I work out twice as hard now to knock off the thyroid weight, but I still eat. Yes, I may not fit in an extra small size, I wear a medium or large with pride now.

Accept yourself, be yourself, love yourself – it will automatically pass on to the people around you. After months of struggle I’ve realised, I am still bloody sexy, I am still fun, I am still beautiful! Nothing has really changed after all… I AM STILL ME!

BE YOU!
