Ahmedabad, Nov 05: Curfew in communal violence-hit Viramgam town of the district, about 60 km from here, is relaxed for five hours for all from noon today with no untoward incident reported since yesterday.
"Curfew is being relaxed from noon to 5.00 PM for everyone as the situation is fast returning to normalcy and no untoward incident has been reported," District Collector Anita Karwal told a news agency.
The administration had relaxed curfew for 90 minutes each in the last two days for women and children only.
Meanwhile, 24 persons, including main culprit and ex-councilor Purushottam Jadhav, were sent to judicial custody by the local court for their alleged role in clashes. Police is searching six others, including Jadhav's kin.

"Six others named in the FIR were not found at their house when police went to arrest them. But they would be arrested shortly," DIG (Ahmedabad range) A K Sharma said.
Police have also seized several weapons during combing operations around the town and has asked people to deposit the licenced arms, Sharma said.

Communal frenzy broke out in the town on Sunday after a cricket ball entered a temple causing ruckus among members of the two communities in which three persons were killed and several were injured. Police later imposed curfew to bring the situation under control.
