New Delhi, July 27: Irked by delay in interconnection by BSNL, Reliance Infocomm on Sunday said it was losing upto 35 per cent of its WLL business due to the state-owned company delaying interconnection in various parts of the country. "At least 35 per cent of business has been lost in terms of subscriber acquisition as we are unable to provide our WLL mobile services in about 390 cities due to non interconnection with BSNL," Manoj Modi, Executive Director, Reliance Infocomm said.

The company, which recently launched its scheme 501 called Monsoon Hangama, claimed that it could not offer this scheme to the people of various cities as there was no interconnection with the BSNL.
Reliance Infocomm had placed orders with BSNL for interconnection in about 690 cities across the country more than a year back but till date only 300 cities have been connected, Modi said adding that "wherever they (BSNL) have given us interconnection, sufficient links are not there and thus affecting our services."
Asked whether the company has taken up the matter with the regulator TRAI, Modi said "this is happening inspite of Government order." Bureau Report
