The new chief minister will be sworn-in at a public function on Sunday at the helipad grounds in Gandhinagar.
Modi`s name was proposed by outgoing chief minister Keshubhai Patel and seconded by industries minister Suresh Mehta at the BJP legislature party meeting, which began in Gandhinagar at 1030 hours.
