London, July 22: He's back -- Hollywood heavyweight Arnold Schwarzenegger muscled into London on Monday for the British premiere of the third "Terminator" film. The Austrian action hero signed autographs and shook hands with some of the hundreds of screaming fans who packed Leicester Square before a screening of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines."
"You always wonder if you can get back into the character," the 55-year-old former Mr Universe told Sky News. "But as soon as I put on the leather jacket and sunglasses I was back."

Schwarzenegger, wearing a black suit and open-necked white shirt, said he had made no decision on a switch from movies to politics.

He said last week that he would soon decide whether to run for the post of California governor.

The latest "Terminator" film sees Schwarzenegger playing a killing machine sent to protect a young hero destined to save humanity from all-conquering machines.

The science fiction blockbuster shot to number one in its opening weekend in North America, taking $44.1 million.
Media reports estimated the actor was paid about $30 million out of the film's total budget of between $150 million and $175 million. "Terminator" in 1984 and "Terminator 2" in 1991 took more than $550 million around the world.
The film opened to mixed reviews in the United States. Chicago Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert said the film had been "dumbed down for the multiplex hordes."

The Los Angeles Times's Kenneth Turan said it was "an expertly paced and efficient sci-fi thrill machine" while the Rolling Stone called it "a potent popcorn movie." Bureau Report
