Parreira looks to Europe before announcing full squad
Rio De Janeiro, Aug 23: Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira named the first 17 players, all of whom play abroad, towards his full squad for the first two matches of the South American zone qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Brazil kick their bid off with a trip to Colombia on September 7, at Barranquilla, then host Ecuador three days later at home in Manaus.
Parreira will add the remaining players, from the Brazilian League Championship, on Tuesday. Ronaldinho will not be available for selection against Colombia due to a red card against Turkey in the Confederations Cup in June. Squad:

Defenders: Cafu, Belletti, Roberto Carlos, Junior, Lucio, Roque Junior, Juan, Edmilson
Midfield: Emerson, Gilberto Silva, Kleberson, Ronaldinho, Ze Roberto, Kaka
