UK, Nov 30: Newcastle striker Alan Shearer has been banned for two matches after being found guilty of violent conduct by Uefa's disciplinary committee. The Newcastle striker was captured on television swinging an elbow at Inter Milan defender Fabio Cannavaro during his side's Champions League loss on Wednesday.
Uefa charged Shearer after viewing video evidence of the incident.

He will now miss Newcastle's game against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on 10 December and the trip to Bayer Leverkusen on 18 February.

Shearer has until 2300 GMT on Monday to lodge an appeal.
He was quoted in the Sun newspaper on Friday as indicating he would appeal, saying: "I feel okay about it and I will defend it if I have to."
Referee Stephane Bre, who had red-carded Shearer's strike partner Craig Bellamy after five minutes, took no action during the game.

Bre said, "I didn't get a clear view of the Shearer incident but I've talked to friends who saw it on TV.
