Aizawl, June 09: Three persons were kidnapped by suspected Bru National Liberation Front militants in Mamit district of Mizoram last week and later released after ransom was paid by the family members, police said here today.
The captives were Brus and residents of Mualthuam area of the district, they said, adding the three were abducted on Friday and were kept in captivity for two hours.

They were later released after the family members paid Rs 3000 as ransom to the ultras, they added.

Police said that they suspect the militants might have fled to neighbouring Tripura.
